Our Founding Story:

In the scorching heat of Iraq in 2008, fate wove our paths together – Will, Tommy, and I, bound by our service in the Air Force. As comrades in arms, we faced challenges that only those who've stood on the same ground can truly understand. Through the grit and camaraderie that defined our days, we formed a bond that would last far beyond our military service.

Transitioning back to civilian life wasn't an easy journey. The structured life we had known was replaced by uncertainty, and the sense of purpose that had driven us on the battlefield now seemed elusive. As the years passed, we each navigated our own struggles, searching for a way to reclaim the camaraderie, mission, and sense of accomplishment that we had once shared.

Then, amid the turbulence of our personal journeys, we discovered the healing power of outdoor recreational therapy. It was in the embrace of nature's beauty and the thrill of adventure that we found solace. These experiences became a lifeline, reigniting a fire within us and gradually steering us toward a new purpose.

Our collective passion for aiding fellow veterans grew stronger by the day. We realized that the transformative potential of outdoor recreation therapy was not just a personal revelation but a lifeline we could extend to others who had walked a similar path.

Little did we know that, this passion would take us on the challenge of a lifetime. In the winter of 2022, We embarked with another veteran to compete in a 3000 mile ocean rowing race across the Atlantic Ocean.

On December 12th, We embarked rowing 24 hours a day. We were prepared for nearly all situations, but on the early morning hours of December 28th we came face to face with our worst fears. Our boat, capsized during high seas and high winds leaving our team stranded in the middle of the Atlantic in a sinking life raft for nearly 18hrs before a miraculous rescue pulled us from almost certain death. Through this we forged a bond far greater than the one we had during our military service. As we sat on the rescue vessel, we knew our lives had been spared for a reason, and that reason being to help other veterans find their purpose through resiliency. The seed of an idea began to take root, and Heroic Expeditions Inc was born.

With unwavering determination, we harnessed our newfound purpose to create an organization dedicated to providing veterans the chance to embark on awe-inspiring adventures. Our vision was clear – to offer our fellow veterans the opportunity to push their limits, embrace new challenges, and rediscover the sense of purpose and mission that had once defined their lives.

Through Heroic Expeditions, we wanted to bridge the gap between the isolating struggles veterans face and the healing power of nature's embrace. We understood that a shared journey could forge connections as strong as the ones we'd experienced during our service days. Our mission was to empower veterans to reclaim their sense of self, find healing, and unearth the boundless possibilities that awaited them beyond their military service.

Today, Heroic Expeditions stands as a testament to the transformation that can arise from shared experiences, passion, and unwavering commitment. Our team – Will, Tommy, and I – have become champions of healing, determined to guide veterans toward their own path of recovery and resilience. Together, we stand united by the belief that every veteran deserves the chance to redefine their purpose and regain their inner peace, just as we did.
